Project Overview

We are proud to present the results of the NJ DOT sponsored technical planning study. Based on extensive stakeholder and public input, the study helped define the project, evaluate multiple design concepts and recommend a path forward.

Design Alternatives

Rails To Trails

Separated speed/activities option with enhanced safety features and optimal functionality. This design received overwhelming community support.

Rails with Trails

Alternative option that would restrict Greenway use to a fraction of the width, without including a needed new rail bed. This option received some support but presents limitations.

Committee Recommendations

The NV Greenway Committee recommends the separate speed option as it best aligns with the region’s needs and maximizes user safety. This recommendation is based on extensive community input and technical analysis.
